On Location Tour 2010

After a 13 hour drive from Connecticut to East Michigan, we arrived at a beautiful ski lake called On Silver Fox Trail and stayed the night with great family friends of Logan's Family. Logan's parents also met us there for dinner and to stay the night with their son. Normally Logan would spend the summer working with his parents at the resort lake property and get to spend the summer having their son around them more. We got up early for a 6.30am set with Logan's Dad Dave, before heading over to Pinckeny for the clinic with Daryl Wytzel, who I had met many times previously on my clinics at Bass Lake near the Fenton Action Water Sports store. Daryl did an amazing job of pulling together a group of his ski buddies for another great day on the water, thank you Daryl and Toni for all your help and a great dinner last night. I am very much looking forward to returning next season for some additional days.

It doesn't get much better than this! We had a fantastic day with Tim, Daryl, Toni, Wendy, John, Andy, John, Mike, Dave, Jim and Jeff.

A huge thank you going out to Judi & Joe for the use of their beautiful beach area for the Clinic!

On Location Tour

I just want to point out that Bill Kiley is our Tour insurance sponsor - Connecticut Underwriters along with American Modern Insurance Group who also Insure the Tour and my Skool. I also need to point out that we have been treated like royalty at the Kiley residence and Jesica, Bill's better half baked home made pop tarts for Breakfast and let me tell you they are amazing! We even took a bunch on the 12 hour trip with us today, they made the journey much more bearable.

Delicious!!!

On Location Tour 2010

I would like to say a huge thank you to the Kiley family, Jesica & Bill along with Son Nate and Daughter Ali, they have been friends of mine for some years now and have made many trips down to Orlando to train with me at my Skool. It was time for me to visit the place where they spend their time on the water when back in Connecticut - Bashin Lake is the beautifully natural crystal clear lake where they ski with their great family friends, the Vansteinburger family. I can tell you these two families have a riot all the time, on and off the water!!!

After obtaining a permit to be able to put up a portable slalom course on Bashin Lake this summer, they have been making the most and skiing as much as possible. I have to say that I was very impressed with how easy and quick is was to install an Insta Slalom portable course, these guy's had it down to about 15 minutes total installation.

On Location Tour

Logan and I had two more amazing days on Given's Pond in Delaware, after meeting Mike Warwick earlier in the spring at my place in Orlando we set up two days of clinics at Hunter and Tracey Philips site - Given's Pond. They were so welcoming to Logan and I, they invited us to stay at their new house and we had a blast. We met an amazing group of skiers and two fantastic hosts. As usual we had a full range of performance in the course, but really enjoyed seeing improvement in all the skiers.

When you arrive at a site and one of the members has taken so much time to hand-make a large poster welcoming you to their ski site, you really feel welcome and ready to become good friends!

On Location Tour

What a fantastic two days of Clinics we have just had Lake Chaney in Maryland. With record setting temperatures of 102 degrees and flat calm conditions, the skiers were loving life on the water. We have a great time meeting and working with all the skiers in an amazing young ski club and I would like to say a huge thank you to Jim Gallagher for help pulling the club together for the clinic and Jim Mosser and Bob Morris for driving a bunch of the sets.
I was blown away to see 75 year old Lorretta Morris ripping the course up at 22 and 28 off (14 meter line) and 75 year husband Bob ripping into 35 off (12 meter line) in training and Tournament. It was a pleasure to work with all the skiers and I can't wait to go back there next year.

Crossing the border!

8 hours into this leg of the Tour and we've just crossed the North Carolina State Border, only 4 more hours to Maryland near Washington DC. Never been to the Nations Capital and looking forward to it!

Logan is still smiling after five hours behind the wheel!

We're on the road again

The saga continues, after heading back to Orlando to finish up the loose ends and pick up the RV, it turns out that the bank has dropped the ball on getting the loan completed in time for our departure needed to get up to Maryland in time for a Friday am start. The RV has been wrapped already and is ready to go, but the loan has been held up for the time being.

We have decided to stay on schedule and rent an SUV for this week. Heritage Coaches bless em, will deliver the coach when all is sorted at the banks end. We have a great deal riding on this Tour and it's important to stay with the schedule and commitments we have made with the many ski clubs, sites and their skiers. We have a 12 hour drive ahead of us today and after leaving Orlando at 9.00am, it's now just before 2.00pm. We have passed the State line into South Carolina and are over a third of the way there! Come on!!

Jacksonville on to Alabama

After a great day at Victory Lakes yesterday, I jumped in the truck and headed to Tallahassee to collect Logan Haughn who will be joining me on the Tour this summer. Logan had spent the past two weeks with us in Orlando, but then flew home to Michigan this past weekend for his brothers wedding. Logan had not slept from the night before and then had spent all day traveling to get back to Florida, he was not feeling that sparkly to say the least, but I know he had a great time!!!!

We then headed North toward to Alabama boarder and toward Andalousia to find a bed for the night. We couldn't wait to get up and get out of the seedy motel we crashed in last night. We found some breakfast, then headed to meet up with Jason Cain and Eddie Span who I had set up the clinic with and who had assembled our group of students for the day. It was a pleasure to meet Hannah, Ryan and father Lee, all eager to learn a good slalom Stance before learning how to make the course. It's fantastic to see another close family enjoying time together out at the lake, great effort today guy's you'll all be making the course before you know it. Limar, Jason and Eddie have been skiing the course for many years now and to a great standard too. These guys have been skiing partners for many years and I am sure this will remain the same for many years to come. These guys have skied tournaments in the past and have had scores in to the 38off lines in their younger years, it was a pleasure to work with a group with a broad range of skills but who all enjoyed the sport as much as the last guy. From the guy who has skied for decades to the guys just getting started in the crazy sport of slalom course skiing!

Thanks for a fantastic day guy's on the water, have a great summer and I can't wait to drop back into you great site on the tail end of my Tour in late September as I head back down to Orlando to open my school again On 1st October.

A great time with friends out at the lake in Andalousia

A piece of skiing paradise!

Hannah and father Lee having a great time learning a sport together!

Ticking 'a day at ski school' off your bucket list

I got a call from a lady in New York who had asked her husband what he wanted for Fathers Day, Ron Peckham told his wife that he wanted to go to Jodi's Ski Skool and have a slalom ski lesson with a professional. After scheduling a lesson, Ron arrived two weeks later and said that he was a keen recreational skier with his buddies and wanted to be able to tick this off his bucket list. Ron is a fantastic guy and it was a pleasure to meet him. Have a great time on the water this summer with your buddies Ron.
