Kevin Barker, Student of the Week

Kevin Barker came to ski with us having never been to ski school before. Kevin first skied at a young age and is now coming back to learn more with his young family, now that he is married with 2 young children.
Kevin is an avid motorcycle rider and ice hockey player, but is ready to spend more time on the water in 2010.



Kevin looking in great position and control on his ski now, he's ready for a great season of water with his family. We are looking forward to the whole family returning in March.

Rory Lee Student of the week, Oct 29th 2009

Rory Lee (aged 6) went from level 5 to level 10 this week, he can now deep water start on two skis - not tied together! Rory is also crossing the wakes, great skiing Rory you rocked it this week!

Matt Baker Student of the Week

Matt Baker from Church Wilne Ski Club in the UK has been ripping up the slalom course out in Orlando this past week. He is now making the course with gates consistently and working on faster speeds! Great Skiing Matt your going to have a great 2010 season on the water.

Nate Kiley is our Student of the week

Young Nate Kiley from Connecticut, sitting on the MasterCraft contemplating his great slalom set in the course. Nate has been training with me all week and he is now running the course nearly every pass through it with gates! He is rippin and loves it!

Congratulations Jon Wilkinson

I was stoked to hear that Jon Wilkinson had won the Senior 2 European Championship Title this weekend, Jon joined me this year on my UK coaching clinic Tour stop at Ten-80 and we were also Pro-Am team mates at the Wigan Grandprix Team event at the beginning of September. Jo has steadily been improving his practice performance this season through good training drills and that training is now paying off with great tournament performances. Great skiing Jon!

I have three students of the week this week, Charlotte Moore, Ben Thompson & Charlie Thompson who have all skied with me this week at Princes. Charlie has run a new PB of 1.5@12 meters. Ben is close to A new PB and working on new Technique and Charlotte Moore is also working on following her ski rather than the boat.

I would like to name two skiers for Student of the Week from this weeks Jodi's Ski Skool Traveling Coaching Clinics in Hudsonville, Michigan.

Kaley Bykurk for learning how to ride and follow her ski better across the wakes and getting well on her way to making the course for the first time! Keep up the program Kaley 1&6, shadow 2'3'4'5 Then 1,5&6, shadow 2'3&4. Then 1'4'5&6, shadow 2&3 Then 1'3'4'5&6 shadow 2. When you can make 1,3,4,5&6 90% of the time and you are finishing your turn on buoy one close to the backside of the buoy, you are ready to go for all the buoys. Good luck girl and let me know as soon as you make it for the first time, I will not be long!

And Tammey Geenen for getting back on her ski after a sustaining a few injuries to her body and confidence and not having been on her ski for some weeks as a result. She came out to Summerwood just to take a look and agreed to take an easy set up and down the lake, after working on having Tammey stand inline and follow her ski more across the course on her onside lean she started to feel much more comfortable and her confidence came back quickly. Tammey came back for another two sets today and before she knew it she was making the at 34mph on 15off, she has not made the course this fast in a long time. Tammey was ellated!

Coaching Clinics Houston, Texas July 24th, 25th, 26th

I was very excited to be going back to Lago Santa Fe, Texas this past weekend to Coaching, I would like to say a huge thank you to Lori & Donny Covington for promoting and hosting the clinic from there property on Lago, The success of these clinics were down to them and would like to personally thank them for that and wish them all the best for the up coming birth of their second child in 3 months.

My Student of the Week at Lago Santa Fe was for sure Harry Feldman from Dallas, I had met Harry two years ago and then he move to Texas. After his mother Vicki heard I was coming to Houston, they booked up and drove 5 hours and to part on all three days of Clinics. Harry goal is to be a three event champion and has just started jumping. I believe this will become Harry's favorite event, actually after the Clinics I think it already is his favorite. Keep up the great skiing Bud, you are rocking on the water and already a little Champion in my eyes!!! JF.
