The first 10 days of 2010 on the water

The first 10 days off the year have been unusually cool in Orlando, we have had frosty nights and the coldest weather in central Florida since 1976 and they say we've got global warming!!! Coveniently now called climate change.

The cooler weather did not hold back our skiers though, after a trip to Performance Ski & Surf and the purchase of some steamers the group where fired up for training. Little Kate Nutt was training hard and improved her personal best up into 30mph with 3 buoys, what a fantastic little skier! Mum Shelley also improved well and is close behind pushing Kate with 2@30. Father Dave changed his grip on the handle and work on his one handed gate and raised his PB up to 3@11.25meters whilst making the 12 meter line more consistent. Older daughter Ellie worked on her swimming as she is swimming at County level and doing great, keep it up girl.

We also switched Gerard Kolthof's grip from Holland and he also was able to bring the high intensity of his lean down and the efficiency up and he was amazed how much easier this was on his body. He will be back in April for more training and we also start working on his jumping, he plans to take the best European Seniors skiers on this season.
Gerard can also do a great Tommy Cooper impression in that hat!

Jurgen Schweigert switch to a new HO A1 which he loved and worked also on gates and movements that kept him moving with his ski. I think he will have a great season on his new ski in 2010. Jurgen prefered the fire for warmth over the hat. We love to see Jurgen training with us in Orlando, I pretty sure he has now visited our school more times than any other skier over the past 3 years.
